Are you a parent or caregiver to a child attending a Brighton and Hove secondary school?

We need your advice!

Since the beginning of the Class Divide campaign, we have fought for better home to school transport for children and young people in the city.

In this new phase of campaigning, we want to make sure that we are representing you as best we can.

We are launching a survey to gather parents’ and caregivers’ thoughts on current secondary school travel arrangements in Brighton and Hove.

We want to know:

  • How does your child get to and from school?

  • What’s working well?

  • What needs improving?

As well as:

Your experience of how travelling to school by bus impacts:

  • Attendance

  • Lateness

  • Whether your child can attend after-school opportunities

Your opinions on:

  • Cost

  • Direct routes provision

  • Any other potential barriers to getting the bus to school

What we need you to do

Fill out the survey - it takes 5 minutes! Click here

Survey closes: Tuesday 22nd of July 2025

Please share it widely in school groups, Whatsapp, Facebook groups! We need as many parents and caregivers as possible to take part.

What we’ll do

Use the results to:

  • Build evidence for a fairer, safer and more affordable school transport system

  • Inform a city-wide transport “hackathon” happening in September 2025 (if you want to take part, email us on the address below)

  • Influence council decisions, national policy conversations, and future campaigns.
